Managing Storage as a Supply Chain

Supply chain management has become universally accepted in the marketplace as the umbrella term for the processes, methodologies and metrics that enable an enterprise to manage and monitor the results of its business activities. The key to any type of supply chain management, whether it is manufacturing, or IT storage services is to understand the interrelationships and performance of each resource within the supply chain. Another key is to optimize the entire end-to-end supply chain while meeting business objectives of cost, delivery timeliness, and quality. Often IT technology is intuitively purchased without a clear relationship to its overall value to the business.
