At its core, the consolidation process centralizes data access and replaces many isolated storage systems and unique processes with common management procedures. ITCentrix looked at the financial advantages of storage consolidation with a specific emphasis on HP's StorageWorks products and solutions. Case studies indicate for many workloads, consolidation can dramatically cut costs by improving equipment utilization and simplifying storage management, yielding greater productivity for IT staff members. ITCentrix's research confirms storage consolidation benefits are achievable within many workloads and industries.
