摘要
Storage environments have grown too large, too complex, and too critical to the operation of business to allow ad hoc management of storage. With incomplete, often inaccurate information about the storage environment, no way to correlate applications to the storage components they depend on, and poor visibility into infrastructure events, administrators can't ensure consistent delivery of the necessary quality of storage service. This white paper details an architecture and process for managing the entire storage infrastructure from the viewpoint of file systems, messaging systems, databases, and other business applications to deliver the required capacity, performance, and availability of storage.
