Recent events such as power outages, natural disasters, and the events of September 11, 2001 have reinforced the need for robust business continuance planning. For IT professionals, these events have changed their expectations and now act as a benchmark for assessing the requirements of a thorough and tested disaster recovery plan. Likewise, the Internet has changed customer expectations as to what constitutes acceptable availability for e-Commerce applications. This paper describes how IBM storage technology can help businesses address many of the issues related to protecting their e-Infrastructures and business-critical applications.
