Tamkang University excels at data storage with IBM and Linux solution
As IT applications and computing environments multiply, so do the data they generate, and managing the storage of that data can be a daunting task -- as was discovered by Tamkang University, widely recognized as the best private university in Taiwan. That's why the university, together with IBM, recently decided to consolidate the campus' data storage functions by deploying a comprehensive storage area network (SAN) and data center supporting the Linux operating system. In so doing, Tamkang University has become the first organization in the Asia-Pacific region to run an enterprise storage solution on the Linux platform.
