In today's SAN environments, one of the most time-consuming and costly administrative tasks is the installation and maintenance of new storage devices. With current HBA drivers, the IT manager must reboot each server in the SAN to make these changes effective. These changes could result in up to $5M a year in downtime costs for large Solaris environments. The JNI No-Reboot driver for Solaris is the first driver that eliminates the need to reboot a server after most common SAN configuration changes, including addition or reconfiguration of storage devices.
