This paper, "Debunking Oracle Backup Myths" covers the importance of keeping Oracle business data highly available and the challenges DBA's have keeping that data available. The paper discusses three common methods to backup and restore Oracle data: Basic Oracle backup and recovery, manual backup and recovery and CommVault QiNetix and CommVault Galaxy (and other 3rd-party products).
