One arena, however, that still remains isolated is storage. Cisco claims it is actively helping to unlock the power of storage with its acquisition of NuSpeed Internet Systems, Inc. in September 2000 and the creation of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Small Computer Systems Interface over IP (iSCSI) standard.
