Today's nonlinear video, audio and graphics applications are geared towards increasing overall productivity through speed and multitasking. With this comes the growing challenge of eliminating bottlenecks associated with the process of delivering creative content. Factors such as performance, incompatibility between media formats, file formats and workstation environments are some areas that need to be addressed today. Plus, the physical file sizes create the necessity for large amounts of storage in order to accommodate for some incompatibilities within the industry.
